About
Dr. Amy Walsh opened Doctor Direct to simplify health care for her patients. Adopting the Direct Primary Care model allowed Dr. Walsh to focus on her patients’ needs without the burdens imposed by insurance companies. Her sole focus is to provide outstanding primary care to each of her patients.
Dr. Walsh is originally from Buffalo, NY. She studied Kinesiology at the University of Michigan where she was a varsity gymnast before earning her MD from Georgetown University School of Medicine. She then completed her residency training at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC.
She has been practicing in the Raleigh area for 25+ years and opened Doctor Direct in 2015. Dr. Amy is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the NC Academy of Family Physicians and has served on the Executive Committee of the Direct Primary Care Alliance.
