About
Dr. Wayne Strouse is a rural family medicine physician with 25 years of experience in the Finger Lakes region of New York state. He was recognized as New York State Family Doctor of the Year in 2020. Dr. Strouse earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, followed by an internship at the Naval Hospital Charleston, and residency at the Kingsport Family Practice Residency in Tennessee. He has served as a director of the New York State Academy of Family Physicians, the Medical Staff President of the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, and a member of the Board of Finger Lakes Health System. Dr. Strouse's passion for Medicare for All was inspired by his diverse experiences both in and out of the U.S. He served as a medical officer for the U.S. Navy from 1987 to 1992 and practiced in New Zealand in 2004-05. He is a founding member of the Central and Western NY Chapter of PNHP and currently practices at Main Street Family Health in Penn Yan, NY, where he has a hybrid DPC practice.
