W. Kevin Watterson
Internal Medicine & Pediatrics
About
I consider the practice of medicine a privilege and a calling. I grew up in a medical home; my father was an internist in a small town, and his commitment, compassion, and sacrifice inspired me. After pursuing a career in biomedical engineering, I entered VCU Medical School in 1989 and, after graduation, completed training in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. I am now a physician with Rockwell Direct, where we focus on personalized, relationship‑based care that emphasizes nutrition, fitness, mental wellness, and chronic disease management. This Direct Primary Care model allows me to see a limited number of patients, spend ample time listening to their histories and goals, and stay connected via phone, text, email, and video.
When I am not practicing medicine, I am married with four grown children, many of whom I homeschooled through high school. Our family stays active in the local church and participates in short‑term mission work. I also enjoy reading, especially Christian apologetics, and reflecting on the business of medicine.
