Dr. Todd Vonderheide, MD, was born and raised in Freeburg, Illinois. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Illinois and received his medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield. He completed a three‑year family practice residency at the SIU Family Practice Residency Program in Belleville, where he served as chief resident, and is certified by the NBME and a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Vonderheide is a strong advocate of Direct Primary Care. He explains that Rural Family Direct Care allows him to return to a time when patient care was the primary focus of family medicine, free from insurance interference.
