THOMAS KAY
Emergency Medicine
About
Thomas Kay, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician who has been practicing for almost 30 years, taking care of newborns to centurions. He works with the team at Direct Primary Care New Braunfels in New Braunfels, Texas. Dr. Kay's great love for medicine has always been caring for all ages, helping with acute illnesses, chronic health concerns, disease prevention, and wellness promotion. He and his family spent time living on the mission field in Romania, Uganda, and Haiti, which inspired him to think outside the box and eventually led him to direct primary care. Dr. Kay began considering what an ideal medical practice would look like, which led him to direct primary care. A direct primary care model keeps patients from getting lost in the shuffle or given appointments months away. Dr. Kay and his wife live in the New Braunfels area with their three kids and a daughter‑in‑law. They are active in the foster community, their local church, and the lives of those they hold dear. When not working, Dr. Kay enjoys walking his dogs, having tea with his wife at Landa Park, and playing board games with his kids.
