Shandra Basil

Dr. Shandra Basil, DO, is the founder and physician‑owner of Basil Family Medicine, a Direct Primary Care practice serving families in Columbus, Chillicothe, Johnstown and Athens, Ohio. Her practice emphasizes affordable, transparent care delivered through a membership model that eliminates insurance billing, provides same‑day visits, extended appointments, direct phone, email, text and video access, and incorporates osteopathic manipulative medicine to support the body’s innate healing. She believes in treating the whole patient, focusing on preventive health, nutrition, and personalized wellness plans.

Dr. Basil earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2018 and completed an ACGME‑accredited Family Medicine residency at Adena Regional Medical Center in 2021. She is board‑certified by the American Osteopathic Association in Family Practice and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, and serves as an assistant clinical professor teaching osteopathic manipulative techniques to medical students. Her commitment to community health is reflected in her recent recognition as the Ohio ACOFP Young Physician of the Year and her active involvement in local health education initiatives.
