SAFIYYA SHABAZZ

Dr. Safiyya Shabazz, MD, FAAFP is the owner and Medical Director of Fountain Medical Associates, PC, a hybrid Direct Primary Care practice specializing in the care of the whole person from childhood through adulthood. She received her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and her Medical Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Shabazz completed an internship at Morehouse Family Medicine in Atlanta before returning to Philadelphia to complete her residency training at UPenn's Department of Family Medicine & Community Health, where she also served on the clinical faculty and continues as a volunteer attending preceptor for Penn Med students. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Shabazz currently serves as President of the Medical Society of Eastern Pennsylvania and is a strong advocate for the Direct Primary Care model, emphasizing longer appointments, unlimited visits, and a holistic approach to health that integrates physical, mental, and spiritual well‑being.
