About

Dr. Ryan Brang was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and earned his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine. He completed a family medicine residency in 2012 at the Marquette Family Medicine Residency program in Marquette, Michigan. After two years of private practice in northern Wisconsin, he returned to Marquette as a faculty member, eventually becoming Associate Program Director and Chair of the Family Medicine Department.

In September 2022 Dr. Brang left academia to launch NorthCountry Health Direct Primary Care in Marquette, Michigan. The DPC model allows him to spend more time with each patient, focus on preventive medicine, nutrition counseling, lifestyle and wellness education, and provide procedural care without the constraints of insurance billing. He believes that a strong doctor‑patient relationship is the cornerstone of better health outcomes.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Brang enjoys cooking healthy meals for his family and staying active through biking, hiking, skiing, and snowboarding. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, serves as Vice Chief of Staff at UPHS‑Marquette, represents the Upper Peninsula on the Michigan State Medical Society board, and is a Certified Culinary Medicine Specialist.
