Rick Henriksen, M.D., M.P.P. is a Salt Lake City‑based, board‑certified family physician who founded Kestrel Wellness as a Direct Primary Care practice. Frustrated by the limitations of the traditional healthcare model, he created a membership‑based clinic that emphasizes long‑term relationships, personalized care plans, and direct access to the physician. He treats patients through an integrated approach that blends ancestral health principles, Western medicine, and functional and integrative therapies to promote whole‑body wellness.

Dr. Henriksen earned his medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx and completed a family medicine residency at the University of Utah, where he later served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine for seven years. He also holds a Master of Public Policy focused on health policy and completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine through the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine. His diverse training informs his patient‑centered DPC philosophy, which prioritizes preventive care, lifestyle medicine, and collaborative decision‑making.
