Onala Telford

Dr. Onala Telford was born in Kazakhstan and immigrated to the U.S. after completing high school. She attended medical school at Marshall University and continued her training at the University of Virginia in Internal Medicine. After completing internal medicine training, Dr. Telford practiced general internal medicine for a few years before pursuing further training in Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Diabetes at Duke University. Upon completion of her fellowship, she continued to practice general endocrinology while obtaining additional certifications in Obesity and Lifestyle Medicine. She has a particular interest in women’s health, thyroid disease, bone health, and diabetes management. Dr. Telford believes communication is essential in the patient relationship and encourages patients to ask questions, emphasizing a personalized, direct‑care approach.
