Dr. Nicolas Platamone’s journey into medicine was fueled by a desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. While initially drawn to sports medicine, his experiences during medical school and residency reshaped his vision of healthcare. Dr. Platamone’s approach transcends traditional medical treatment. He strives to forge genuine connections with his patients, focusing on holistic well‑being through both preventative and acute care. By actively listening and fostering strong relationships, he inspires his patients to enthusiastically engage in their health journey.

With deep roots in Virginia, Dr. Platamone feels a strong connection to his community. A proud Virginia Military Institute graduate, he relishes Richmond’s culinary scene, local farmers’ markets, and vibrant culture. Outside of his medical practice, he cherishes time with his wife and their three dogs. An avid outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, soccer, and various forms of exercise. In his downtime, he tends to his garden, plays video games, and indulges in his passion for fine bourbon collection. Together with his wife, they share a love for cooking and exploring new cuisines.
