About
Dr. Monte C. Uyemura is a board‑certified family physician who has practiced in Wray, Colorado since 1996. He graduated from Northwestern University Medical School in 1989, completed an internship at Martin Army Community Hospital in Fort Benning, Georgia, and finished his family medicine residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, Washington. After four years of service as a family physician in the U.S. Army at Fort Riley, Kansas, he was honorably discharged as a major in 1996. Dr. Uyemura founded Uyemura Family Medicine, PLLC as a Direct Primary Care practice to provide affordable, full‑spectrum family medicine to a small community, believing that the DPC model can help repair the broken health‑care system, especially in rural America.
