Family Medicine
About
Dr. Michael Sparks, MD, is a board‑certified family medicine physician based in Sanford, Florida. A native Floridian, Dr. Sparks grew up in the Tampa area before moving to Orlando to pursue his undergraduate studies at the University of Central Florida, where he earned a Bachelor’s in Biology with a minor in Health Sciences. He then attended Ross University School of Medicine, graduating with high honors. Dr. Sparks completed his Family Medicine Residency at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida, where he served as Chief Resident during his final year. During his residency he developed a keen interest in point‑of‑care ultrasound for diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal issues directly in the clinic.
Passionate about providing personalized care, Dr. Sparks embraced the Direct Primary Care (DPC) model early in his career, allowing him to build strong, continuous relationships with patients without traditional insurance constraints. He also teaches pre‑medical, medical, and family medicine residents, and serves as an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. Outside the clinic, Dr. Sparks enjoys time with his family, running, and watching soccer and hockey.
