About
Dr. Lauren Whitley, MD, is the founding physician of Halcyon Health, a Direct Primary Care (DPC) clinic on St. Simons Island. She believes that the traditional insurance‑driven model creates barriers to personalized, relationship‑based care, so she created Halbyon Health in 2022 to restore the doctor‑patient partnership. Members receive unlimited visits, same‑day access, and comprehensive preventive services without copays, allowing her to spend the time needed for each patient’s unique health goals.
Born and raised in Memphis, TN, Dr. Whitley pursued a pre‑medical degree at Mississippi College before earning her MD from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 2012. After completing a family‑medicine internship and residency, she worked as a hospitalist for Southeast Georgia Health System (2018‑2024). In 2022 she left the hospital setting to focus full‑time on DPC, bringing her experience in chronic‑disease management, wellness counseling, and family medicine to a model that emphasizes continuity, accessibility, and holistic care.
