LAUREN HUGHES
Pediatrics
About
Dr. Lauren Hughes is a board‑certified pediatrician and founder of Bloom Pediatrics and Lactation, a Direct Primary Care practice dedicated to providing personalized, relationship‑focused care for children and families. She believes that DPC allows her to spend more time with each patient, eliminate insurance barriers, and foster a partnership model where families receive proactive, preventive care and comprehensive support for all stages of childhood, including lactation and nutrition.
Dr. Hughes earned her MD from the University of Kansas Medical School in 2017, graduating while pregnant with her first child. She completed a pediatric residency at the University of Kansas Health System, where she also earned her International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) credential. Since launching Bloom Pediatrics the day after finishing residency in 2020, she has combined her clinical expertise with her experience as a mother of three to create a practice that emphasizes evidence‑based guidance, compassionate counseling, and a community‑centered approach to child health.
