KIRA BIRON
Nurse Practitioner, Family
About
Kira Biron's desire to become a Nurse Practitioner started in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where she was a bedside nurse for almost 10 years. As a Staff Nurse in the ICU, Resource Nurse to her peers, and Rapid Response Nurse for the entire hospital, she has seen firsthand how chronic disease and lifestyle choices affect patients and their families. Her experience, coupled with her passion, has brought her right where she wants to be. She completed her bachelor's in nursing at OHSU in 2007 and spent eight years in acute care before graduating from Gonzaga University in 2015 with her master's in nursing. As a nurse practitioner, she struggled to find joy and satisfaction as a provider in the healthcare system. In 2016, her husband Joel and she founded Phoenix Rising Family Medicine to create a space where providers have autonomy to deliver individualized care. This empowers providers to partner with their patients and make wellness goals a reality. She loves her role at Phoenix Rising Family Medicine because they continue to create a unique setting where this partnership is possible.
