KATHERINE WALUSIAK
Nurse Practitioner
About
Katie Walusiak, FNP-BC, is a board‑certified nurse practitioner with expertise in both family practice (FNP‑BC) and adult gerontology acute care (AGACNP‑BC). She earned a bachelor’s degree in art and psychology from Cornell College and later completed her master’s degree in nursing at Rush University in Chicago. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Katie worked as a rehabilitation counselor helping patients recover from traumatic brain injuries, which gave her a strong foundation in holistic, patient‑centered care.
At Pine Ridge Family Medicine, Katie embraces the Direct Primary Care model, allowing her to spend ample time with each patient and develop comprehensive, individualized treatment plans. She is passionate about caring for patients of all ages, from infants to seniors, and integrates preventive medicine with acute care expertise. Outside of work, Katie enjoys hiking, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her husband and two young daughters.
