JOSHUA UMBEHR

Dr. Josh Umbehr was born and raised in Alma, Kansas. He earned a bachelor’s degree in human nutritional sciences with a minor in biology at Kansas State University, where he also conducted research on the effects of vitamin A on lung cancer. He then graduated from The University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed his family medicine residency at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Dr. Umbehr is a board‑certified Family Physician who founded AtlasMD to create a Direct Primary Care practice that removes the burdens of insurance and government regulation, allowing him to focus on personalized, relationship‑based care for his patients.

At AtlasMD, Dr. Umbehr emphasizes a patient‑centered model that prioritizes accessibility, continuity, and preventive health. He believes that the DPC philosophy enables longer appointments, same‑day access, and a holistic approach to wellness, which aligns with his commitment to delivering high‑quality, compassionate family medicine to the Wichita community.
