Dr. Shugrue is a board‑certified Family Medicine physician who was born and raised in Alabama. He is a proud girl dad and enjoys movies, swimming, traveling, and visiting the local farmers market. After graduating from the University of South Alabama, he earned his medical degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed his family medicine residency in Tuscaloosa and spent ten years practicing in traditional insurance‑based systems. Dr. Shugrue grew frustrated with the barriers those systems created and now embraces Direct Primary Care to spend more time with patients, get to know their lives, and provide comprehensive, accessible care.
