JOHN MANIRE
Family Medicine
About
Dr. John Manire, DO, is a native of western Kentucky and long‑time Louisville resident who believes that primary care should be personal, accessible, and free of insurance middlemen. At Our Family Direct Primary Care, PLLC, he leads a practice that emphasizes longer visits, same‑day appointments, and direct communication via phone, text, and email, allowing patients to build a true partnership with their physician. He describes Direct Primary Care as a way to "get back to the way medicine should be practiced—with compassion" and to spend the time needed for preventive care, chronic disease management, and holistic health.
His clinical background includes a Magna Cum Laude B.A. in Vocal Music Performance from Austin Peay State University, a Master of Music and a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Louisville, and a D.O. degree from the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (2013). While in medical school he was an OMT Fellow and earned the Fellow of the Year award. Dr. Manire completed a family medicine residency at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, where he honed his skills in comprehensive primary care. His interests span preventive medicine, integrative therapies such as OMT, acupuncture, and prolotherapy, as well as transgender health and HIV/AIDS. Outside of medicine he enjoys music, dance, art, and history.
