John M. Lucas, PA-C was born in Goldsboro, NC where he graduated as valedictorian from Wayne Christian School. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in biology from Cedarville University in Ohio while volunteering as an EMT with the township and campus Emergency Medical Services. After a year as a medical technician at a level‑1 trauma center in Dayton, OH, he returned to North Carolina to complete East Carolina University’s Physician Assistant program, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Lucas worked as a Physician Assistant for 19 years at Rocky Mount Family Medical Center before joining Freedom Family Medicine in 2023. He is a father of four, tutors elementary students in a homeschool community, serves as a deacon and elder at Rocky Mount Bible Church, and enjoys playing guitar, following international soccer, and collecting vintage records and sports cards.
