JOSEPH NICHOLS

Dr. Joey Nichols is a board‑certified family physician with more than 13 years of clinical experience. He was the first Primary Care Innovation Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and, in 2020, was elected Vice Chair of the AAFP Telemedicine Interest Group. Dr. Nichols emphasizes a Direct Primary Care model that prioritizes whole‑person care, easy access, and strong doctor‑patient relationships, aiming to provide the same extraordinary care he would want for his own family and friends.\n\nIn addition to his clinical practice at Canopy Family Care in Takoma Park, MD, Dr. Nichols is a public health researcher and principal investigator for Canopy Community Health and Research, integrating primary care with behavioral health and community‑based clinical trials.
