Jeffrey Ponke

Dr. Jeffrey S. Ponke, M.D. (Dr. Jeff) earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology, summa cum laude, from Wheaton College, IL in 1997 and his Medical Degree with Honors from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada in 2001. He completed his residency in Family Medicine through Queen’s University with an emphasis in Rural Medicine in 2003 and a Surgical Assist training program at the University of Alberta in Edmonton in 2004, followed by a year of Bible College in Knoxville, TN. Dr. Jeff has practiced medicine for over twenty years in Canada, serving in small‑town hospitals and participating in medical missions to Guatemala, the Republic of the Congo and Ukraine. Since 2014 he has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto teaching family medicine residents.

In 2023 Dr. Jeff moved his family to Forest, Virginia to join Forest Direct Primary Care. He is committed to the Direct Primary Care model, offering patients personalized, unhurried care, same‑day access, and a focus on preventive health and chronic disease management. His philosophy emphasizes building long‑term relationships, empowering patients to take ownership of their health, and delivering evidence‑based, family‑centered medicine within the DPC framework.
