About
Dr. Jayshree Chander, MD, MPH, is a practicing physician board certified in family and community medicine as well as occupational and environmental medicine. She earned her MD from the University of Wisconsin‑Madison (1990) and a MPH with an emphasis in environmental health from the University of California‑Berkeley. Dr. Chander founded Beyond Holistic, a Direct Primary Care practice that emphasizes primary prevention, integrating mind, body, spirit, family, community, occupation, and environment. Her approach combines conventional family medicine with yoga, meditation, ashiatsu, Ayurveda, and traditional Chinese medicine to support whole‑person health.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Chander has devoted many years to community service, providing care at the Tom Waddell Clinic for the Homeless in San Francisco and assisting survivors of the 1984 Union Carbide gas disaster in Bhopal. She brings this community‑focused perspective to her DPC practice, aiming to empower patients to take charge of their health through preventive and holistic strategies.
