Jane Ankenbauer

Jane Ankenbauer serves as Chief Operating Officer of Independent Family Doctors, a Direct Primary Care practice in Caldwell, Idaho. With 22 years in healthcare, she began her career at age 15 as a personal care assistant, later working as a CNA and Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Aide. She transitioned to office management in a hospice setting before joining Dr. Josh Leavitt in 2018 to help build the DPC clinic.

In her COO role, Jane oversees daily operations, patient communications, and ensures the practice delivers the DPC model’s promise of personalized, membership‑based care. She emphasizes rapid response to patient inquiries, seamless coordination with hospitals, and a focus on education so members understand how to stay healthy without insurance barriers.

Outside of work, Jane is a mother of five, enjoys family time, and is passionate about community service, mentoring new staff, and promoting hospice and palliative care awareness.
