JACOB PETERSON

Dr. Jacob Peterson, MD, is a board‑certified family physician and obesity medicine specialist. He was born and raised in Atkinson, NE, and earned a Biology‑Health Professions degree with a Neuroscience concentration from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA. He conducted immunology and neurobiology research at the University of Nebraska‑Lincoln and the University of Nebraska Medical Center before attending medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). Dr. Peterson completed a dual internal medicine and family medicine residency in UNMC’s Primary Care Program in 2018, gaining extensive training in comprehensive primary care.

Dr. Peterson founded Vitality Family Healthcare in January 2023 to provide Direct Primary Care (DPC) services to Grand Island and surrounding communities. He emphasizes a patient‑centered, whole‑person approach that individualizes diagnostic and treatment plans while considering each patient’s physiological, cultural, social, economic, and spiritual values. He is committed to transparent, affordable pricing and offers direct access to his patients via phone, email, text, or video.

His clinical interests include preventative medicine, weight management, longevity, and anti‑aging medicine. He is skilled in minimally invasive, ultrasound‑guided procedures such as carpal tunnel release and musculoskeletal injections, aiming to improve healing times and outcomes for his patients.
