About
Dr. J Nicki Ames was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Arkansas before attending medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). She completed her residency in Family Medicine at the UAMS AHEC in Fayetteville, AR, and is board certified in Family Medicine. After practicing in Little Rock for several years, Dr. Ames moved to Bryant, Arkansas in 2015, where she now leads Ames Direct Primary Care.
Dr. Ames is a strong advocate of the Direct Primary Care (DPC) model, emphasizing transparency, longer appointment times, and a personal doctor‑patient relationship. At Ames DPC, patients benefit from 30‑60 minute visits (up to 90 minutes for new patients), same‑day or next‑day appointments, and direct communication via text, email, video chat, and phone. By eliminating insurance billing, the practice offers flat‑rate memberships that provide affordable access to comprehensive primary care services, allowing Dr. Ames to spend more time addressing each patient’s unique health goals and concerns.
