HELEN TACKITT

Helen Tackitt, DNP, RN, FNP-BC, NE-BC, CFNMP, has over 15 years of experience as a nurse practitioner providing high‑quality primary and functional medicine care. She believes in a personal, unhurried relationship with patients, emphasizing prevention, education, and individualized treatment plans. Her DPC philosophy centers on a flat‑fee membership model that removes insurance middlemen, allowing unlimited same‑day appointments and longer visit times so patients receive comprehensive, coordinated care.

Before founding Direct Primary Care Mebane, Helen served as Director of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in the Taussig Cancer Center at the Cleveland Clinic and as Director of Clinical Practice and Education in the Duke Cancer Network. Those roles highlighted gaps in traditional primary care, especially for cancer survivors, inspiring her to create a practice focused on holistic, integrative health and functional medicine.
