HEIDI KNOLL

Dr. Heidi Knoll is a family medicine physician excited to be joining Lantern Health in 2022. Originally born and raised in northeast Ohio, she spent more than a decade in Providence, Rhode Island for education and training – interrupted only for an adventurous year abroad in Argentina. After she and her husband welcomed twins in the same year she completed her family medicine residency at Brown University, they settled in Asheville. Prior to this chapter, Heidi devoted seven years to academic family medicine – resident teaching and full‑spectrum clinical practice – at MAHEC. This experience shaped her love for the community. Her professional interests include pediatrics, reproductive care (contraception and pregnancy), gender‑affirming care, health justice, group medical care, and medical education/innovation. Having been interested in the direct primary care model since residency, she looks forward to the flexibility and transparency it offers, emphasizing personability and accessibility in patient‑physician relationships.
