Hector E Tamayo

Dr. Hector Edwin Tamayo is a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician with over 20 years of primary care experience. He obtained his MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where he specialized as a Doctor for Adults. He was honored as Chief Resident of the program and served as teaching doctor for many years at University Hospital, the VA Hospital, and UT Health San Antonio. Dr. Tamayo led a team of primary care providers in office-based care for many years. He created Direct Care of Texas to free his patients from barriers in our health system that limit direct communication and care from their physician. He enjoys surprising his patients with unparalleled access by text, phone, video calls, office visits and house calls.
