About
Dr. Harish Ponnuru comes from a long line of physicians and completed his undergraduate studies and medical degree at the University of Missouri–Kansas City. He finished his Internal Medicine residency at Sinai Samaritan Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he earned multiple awards including Humanitarian of the Year and Chief Resident. Prior to joining Menorah Medical Center in 2004, he practiced at Barnes Jewish Hospital and in private practice in St. Louis, Missouri, and has a special interest in diabetes. Since 2014, Dr. Ponnuru has embraced the Direct Primary Care model at Total Primary Care, emphasizing personalized, uninterrupted patient relationships, preventive care, and same‑day access without insurance barriers. In his spare time he enjoys family life, volunteer work, and participating in medical mission teams in Honduras and Guatemala.
