Dr. Gabrielle McGrew believes that primary care should be non‑judgmental, individualized, and centered on a true partnership with patients. At Northwest Direct Care she emphasizes open dialogue, taking the time to understand each patient’s history, goals, and concerns, and crafting collaborative, restorative care plans that avoid the rushed, volume‑driven model of traditional practice. Her DPC philosophy is rooted in the idea that patients come first, and that a small panel allows her to be readily available by phone, email, or video to guide patients through prevention, illness, and complex medical decisions.

Dr. McGrew earned her MD from the University of California, Davis School of Medicine in 2005 and completed an internal medicine residency at Oregon Health & Science University in 2008. With more than 20 years of experience, she began her career with the Visiting Nurse Association, where she learned the value of deep, relationship‑based care. She continues to devote many hours each week to reading medical journals, attending conferences, and pursuing continuing education to ensure her patients receive evidence‑based, cutting‑edge treatment.

Beyond the clinic, Dr. McGrew is active in her community, sharing her love of nature and wellness through yoga, plant‑based cooking, gardening, and outdoor activities with her family. She values mentorship and often volunteers her time to support local health initiatives and to advocate for patients navigating the broader medical system.
