Dr. Elizabeth Baker is a board-certified family physician with over 30 years of experience in private practice, public health service, academic medicine, and corporate medicine. Her scope of practice has ranged from routine wellness to delivering babies at home. She is now excited to be able to care for her patients in a personalized setting through Sanctuary Family Health. Dr. Baker grew up in downstate Illinois and graduated with honors from The University of Chicago. She then attended medical school at Southern Illinois University. After receiving her MD from SIU, she completed residency training in family medicine at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Baker has a special interest in women's health and was the physician for a small women's college in Pittsburgh and did grant‑funded research in obstetrics. In 1997, Dr. Baker moved to northern Illinois and has worked in a variety of practice settings. While she no longer practices obstetrics, she continues to provide women's health care as well as wellness care, acute care, and chronic disease management for people of all ages.
