DOUGLAS BROOKS
Family Medicine
About
Dr. Douglas P. Brooks, M.D. is the founder and owner of Men’s Health of Parkersburg, a male‑only Direct Primary Care concierge practice. He emphasizes an evidence‑based, patient‑centered approach, aiming to provide the “absolute best experience” by spending ample time listening to each patient’s story, creating individualized care plans, and offering direct communication via phone, text, and video chat. Brooks believes that a DPC model allows him to focus on preventive health, chronic disease management, and men’s specific wellness concerns without the constraints of traditional insurance billing.
Born and raised in Parkersburg, WV, Dr. Brooks earned a BA in Biology from West Virginia University (1992) and his MD from West Virginia University School of Medicine (1997). He completed a Family Medicine residency at the University of South Carolina’s Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in 2000. Over 25 years of practice, he has served as a clinical instructor and faculty member at several academic institutions, and he continues to teach medical students, residents, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
Dr. Brooks is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, holds an unrestricted West Virginia medical license, and is an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the West Virginia Academy of Family Physicians. He also serves as the team physician for the Parkersburg High School Big Reds, reflecting his commitment to community health.
