DEREK SURDEZ
Family Medicine
About
Dr. Derek Surdez was born and raised in Sabetha, a small town in Northeast Kansas. He attended Kansas State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. Dr. Surdez earned his medical degree at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed his Family Medicine residency training at Via Christi in Wichita. His interest in medicine began during his father’s long battle with pancreatitis and grew into a compassion for the sick and suffering. He is passionate about Direct Primary Care because it allows him to build relationships with his patients, take time to really listen, and make sure all of their needs are addressed. Outside of medicine, his passions include swimming in the ocean, making good coffee, listening to For King and Country, and spending quality time with his family.
