Crystal Maxwell

Dr. Crystal Maxwell, MD, MBA, FAAFP is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of LIGHT Family Wellness, the first Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice in Indian Land, South Carolina. She built the practice to provide personal, unrushed, and affordable care, offering unlimited office and tele‑visits, zero copays, and near‑wholesale prescriptions for a simple monthly membership. Dr. Maxwell emphasizes a holistic philosophy, believing the body is a temple and that preventive, relationship‑focused care leads to better health outcomes.

Before launching LIGHT, Dr. Maxwell served as the Chief Medical Officer of a multi‑site community health center from 2012 to 2020. She completed her Family Medicine residency at the University of Tennessee in 2010 and later earned an Executive MBA from Auburn University in 2016. Her DPC model allows her to spend 30‑60 minutes with each patient, develop individualized care plans, and integrate wellness coaching, weight‑loss programs, and aesthetic services into comprehensive primary care.
