COLLEEN SHENDOW

Colleen Shendow is a physician assistant with eight years of experience in Internal Medicine. She earned her undergraduate degree in Spanish from the University of Virginia and completed a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Shenandoah University in 2016. At Smartypants Medicine she embraces the Direct Primary Care model, emphasizing longer visits, personalized care plans, and a focus on preventive health to keep patients well and avoid unnecessary interventions.

She is passionate about women’s health, menopause, obesity management, mental health, and routinely performs skin procedures and joint injections. Colleen believes in treating the whole person, recognizing that lifestyle, environment, and emotional wellbeing all impact health. In her spare time she enjoys triathlon training, hiking, and spending time with her husband and three boys, staying active to model the healthy lifestyle she promotes for her patients.
