About
Dr. Carter grew up in Whitehouse, Texas, and has always had a strong connection to the East Texas community. He earned his bachelor’s degree from East Texas Baptist University and his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. After completing his residency, he returned to East Texas and spent 15 years practicing emergency medicine. In 2016, he founded MyMD Select in Tyler to provide more personalized, community‑focused direct primary care, emphasizing real‑time access, longer visits, and a partnership model that puts patients first.
