Dr. Cindy Cedillo-Ruiz is a board‑certified family medicine physician born and raised in Houston. She has been bridging the healthcare gap in Houston since elementary school when she translated for her parents during medical appointments, inspiring her to pursue a career focused on culturally competent care. After graduating from the University of Houston, she earned her MD from Baylor College of Medicine and remained at Baylor for her residency, serving as Chief Resident in Family Medicine. Dr. Cedillo then worked with the Harris Health System providing primary care to underserved communities before becoming the emergency‑room director for Jackson County Hospital District. She now owns Prickly Pear Family Medicine, a Direct Primary Care practice that emphasizes personalized, affordable care, bilingual communication, and community‑focused health initiatives.
