Dr. Buzz Hollander, MD, co‑founder of Iris Integrative Health in Waimea, Hawaii, a direct primary care practice that blends conventional family medicine with naturopathic approaches. He believed that removing insurance middlemen allowed more time with patients, personalized preventive care, and the ability to offer services such as cooking classes, farm‑to‑table nutrition, and community wellness events. Trained as a family physician, Dr. Hollander emphasized evidence‑based medicine, critical analysis of research, and a holistic view of health. He served the community until his untimely death on June 25 2023 after a battle with cancer, leaving a legacy of integrative, patient‑centered care and a model that continues under his wife, Dr. Michelle Suber.
