Benjamin Fischer
Internal Medicine
About
Dr. Benjamin Fischer is a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician who founded Fischer Clinic in March 2016 to create a Direct Primary Care (DPC) model that emphasizes a personal, responsive, and affordable relationship with patients. He believes that eliminating insurance middle‑men allows for longer visits, same‑day access, and a focus on preventive health, enabling him to tailor care plans to each individual’s needs. His practice philosophy centers on continuity of care, transparent pricing, and building lasting doctor‑patient partnerships.
Dr. Fischer earned his M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, and completed his residency at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA, where he also served as Chief Resident. After serving in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps on Whidbey Island, WA, he worked as a hospitalist at Sibley Hospital in Washington, DC, and later at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. He has also contributed to community health as a team doctor for NC State athletics and as a partner in the Raleigh Wellness Project, a collaboration with the YMCA and WakeMed physicians.
