Ben Convington

With over 20 years experience in medicine, Dr. Ben Covington is the heart and soul of Covington Family Health. He knew from an early age that he was going to be a doctor. In 2001, he graduated from the University of Texas School of Medicine in San Antonio, and went on to complete his Family Medicine residency in 2004 at the Texas Tech Institute for Family Medicine in Amarillo. After residency he opened a small‑town practice in Dumas, TX, later worked in Emergency Medicine, and ultimately founded Covington Family Health to provide Direct Primary Care with personal, unobstructed access to patients through phone, secure text, email, and video.

Dr. Covington’s DPC philosophy emphasizes a direct, personal relationship with each patient, eliminating insurance middlemen and allowing ample time for comprehensive preventive care, chronic disease management, and same‑day visits. When not seeing patients, he participates in medical mission work, bringing care to underserved communities.
