About
Dr. Anna G. Mirer, MD, PhD, MPH (she/her) is the founder and lead physician of Presence Primary Care in Milwaukee. Her practice is built on a Direct Primary Care model that eliminates insurance middle‑men and offers a membership‑based, sliding‑scale fee structure so patients can receive comprehensive primary care without financial barriers. Dr. Mirer emphasizes inclusivity and health‑care justice, welcoming patients of all ages, genders, neurotypes, sexual orientations, sizes, and abilities. She provides trauma‑informed care, gender‑affirming hormone therapy, and medication‑assisted treatment for opioid use disorder, and she strives to create a sensory‑friendly, wheelchair‑accessible environment where patients feel heard and respected.
Before launching her DPC practice, Dr. Mirer completed a long academic journey that included a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at UC Berkeley and an MD‑PhD program at the University of Wisconsin‑Madison, followed by a Family Medicine residency. Her clinical interests focus on reproductive health, primary care for neurodivergent patients, size‑neutral medicine, mental health, and opioid use disorder treatment. She combines her research background with a passion for justice in medicine to deliver personalized, evidence‑based care that makes sense for each patient.
