Family Medicine
About
Dr. Amy Doherty, D.O., is a family medicine physician who earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a residency in Family Medicine at Advocate Bromenn Medical Center and a fellowship at Pikeville Medical Center. Dr. Doherty embraces the osteopathic principle that the physician’s role is to support the body’s innate ability to heal, and she is dedicated to providing personalized, relationship‑focused care.
She founded KlarCare Direct Primary Care in Portage, Wisconsin to eliminate the barriers of traditional insurance‑based practice. By offering a transparent, membership‑based model, she provides same‑day or next‑day appointments, comprehensive preventive services, and discounted labs and prescriptions, allowing patients to receive consistent, high‑quality care without surprise bills. Dr. Doherty also contributes to the community through teaching rural health rotations at the University of Wisconsin Medical School and serving as a medical translator and assistant in Lebanon.
