ALYSSA WISLANDER

Alyssa Wislander has been a nurse since 2003 and a nurse practitioner since 2011. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Iowa and completed her Master’s, Post‑Master’s, and Doctorate of Nursing Practice at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is board certified in both pediatrics and acute care, and after becoming an NP she served as a clinical instructor at the University of Illinois at Chicago for six years, teaching dermatologic procedures at national conferences. Alyssa spent much of her early career working in the emergency department and as a flight‑nurse, giving her a strong background in urgent and emergency care.

At Essential Health DPC, Alyssa embraces the Direct Primary Care model, emphasizing a low‑cost, membership‑based practice that allows her to spend more time with each patient, eliminate insurance‑related barriers, and provide personalized, continuous care. She is dedicated to building lasting relationships with patients and their families, focusing on preventive health, chronic disease management, and compassionate, patient‑centered care.
