He created ImagineMD to give patients the luxury of time—allowing thorough histories, thoughtful diagnosis, and same‑day or next‑day appointments. By charging a flat monthly fee and eliminating insurance billing, he keeps his patient panel small (around 600) and is personally reachable 24/7, embodying the DPC philosophy of deep, continuous doctor‑patient relationships.

Before launching ImagineMD, Dr. Lickerman spent two decades at the University of Chicago, where he served as an assistant professor of medicine, director of primary care, and assistant vice president for Student Health and Counseling Services. He is recognized as a master clinician and educator, author of "The Undefeated Mind" and "The Ten Worlds," and a frequent speaker at national medical conferences.
