About

Dr. Aaron Watters, MD, is a family medicine physician with more than 35 years of experience. He earned his MD from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1990 and began his career in his hometown of Colby, Kansas, working as an EMT at 18 and in respiratory therapy while attending college. After completing a family medicine residency at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine in Tulsa, he spent two decades as a family doctor in Ark City, Kansas, followed by nine years as an emergency‑room physician, director, and hospitalist. In 2022 he founded Liberty MD, a Direct Primary Care practice in Emporia, Kansas, to return to the one‑on‑one patient relationship he values.

At Liberty MD, Dr. Watters emphasizes a DPC philosophy that eliminates insurance middle‑men, allowing longer appointments, same‑day access, and personalized care plans. He believes health care should focus on keeping patients well rather than navigating bureaucratic protocols, and he strives to treat each patient as an individual with tailored treatment rather than a number.
