Dr. Ernesto Matos Perez, MD grew up in Cuba and earned his medical degree from the Havana Institute of Health Science & Medicine in 1989. He completed his Family Medicine residency in Havana in 1995 and spent several years providing care to rural mountain communities in Cuba before moving to Belize, where he operated clinics, worked in hospitals, and served as faculty at the American‑owned Grace School of Medicine.
After immigrating to the United States, Dr. Perez completed a two‑year Family Medicine residency at the Rio Bravo Family Medicine Residency Program in Bakersfield, California. In 2018 he joined Free Market Physicians, a Direct Primary Care practice in Neosho, Missouri, where he now serves as a family medicine physician. He embraces the DPC model’s focus on eliminating insurance middlemen, offering patients same‑day access, personalized care, and transparent pricing.
