Dr. Amy Walsh is originally from Buffalo, NY. She studied Kinesiology at the University of Michigan where she was a varsity gymnast before moving on to receive her MD from Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Walsh then completed her residency training at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. She has been in practice in the Raleigh area for 25+ years and opened Doctor Direct in 2015. Dr. Amy is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the NC Academy of Family Physicians. She has served on the Executive Committee of the Direct Primary Care Alliance. In her spare time she loves to strength train, do a bit of yoga and read. Dr. Walsh is also an avid college football and gymnastics fan. You can often find her cheering for her favorite team, the University of Michigan Wolverines. "I believe that a doctor’s best partner is the patient, not a hospital, network or insurance company. I believe when a doctor & patient work together as a team, HEALTH happens." Dr. Amy Walsh opened Doctor Direct to simplify health care for her patients. Adopting the Direct Primary Care model allowed Dr. Walsh to focus on her patients’ needs without the burdens imposed by insurance companies. Her sole focus is to provide outstanding primary care to each of her patients.
