Dr. Vera Oyabure was born and raised in Dallas, TX. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Baylor University in Waco, TX, and received her medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine. She completed a Family Practice residency at the University of Tennessee Family Practice Residency Program in Jackson, TN, and is board‑certified in family medicine. Dr. Oyabure has also worked as a hospitalist, gaining extensive experience caring for complex and acute patients before returning to primary care.
Dr. Oyabure is a strong advocate of Direct Primary Care (DPC). She believes that a smaller patient panel and longer, unhurried visits allow her to build lasting doctor‑patient relationships, address root causes of illness, and reduce unnecessary hospitalizations and emergency‑room visits. At KarisMed Family Medicine she leads a team that provides personalized, proactive, and affordable care for patients of all ages, emphasizing preventive health, functional medicine, and whole‑person wellness.
